Mother’s Day – A Big Thankyou to my Mum Today

I love this video. It is soooo……… true.  I  had misty eyes at the end.  I remember what my mum did for me, and is still doing, throughout my dressage riding career, and now what I do for my children. It is a wonderful video.  A tribute to Mums everywhere.

How has your Mum helped you in your sports career?  I would love to hear so do leave a reply below…..

Thanks Mum!

  1. Thanks for posting this, Rachael. Too easy to take our Mums for granted. Mine was not a “horsey” Mum, but has provided incomparable support for my whole life. She still supports me and my daughter – this weekend she came and pencilled for a Para nomination event I was running (just to make my life easier), before going and judging at a local event today. When her granddaughter competes, she comes and watches (although it is NOT good for her blood pressure). My kids adore her – quite rightly. She is always fair (and almost usually right) about our riding and our horses, even if we don’t always realise it. Your Mum has always inspored me too – so please wish her a happy Mothers Day too.

  2. Hi Rachael,
Loved the video Rachael, it brought to mind being invited to Gunnedah to Pony Club State Championships when you were riding the recently broken Northern Charisma (Cassie). Nerida kept me calm while you and Cassie carried the club flag and dealt with a few over-excited young pony clubbers and runaway ponies.
Cassie was a real “trooper” and so is your Mum. On that weekend Nerida still gave her 100% support of you while re-uniting with a friend she hadn’t seen in 15 years!
And to boot we spent the night in the horse float!!
