Megan Jones withdraws from Eventing Team

Here’s the report from the ABC about Megan Jones‘ withdrawal from the eventing team due to fitness problems with Allofasudden.  So sorry to hear this.

>>>>>”Australia’s Olympic equestrian team has again been rocked by the withdrawal of an injured horse on the eve of the London Games opening ceremony.

Australian equestrian team officials have confirmed that Megan Jones’ horse Allofasudden failed its latest veterinarian check and has been eliminated from the three-day event competition.

Jones, a silver medallist in 2008, only came into the eventing team earlier this week after injury forced Beijing team-mate Shane Rose to scratch his mount, Taurus.

Equestrian section manager Brett Mace says another British-based Australian, Sam Griffiths, will replace Jones.

“Sam comes into the team with strong, consistent performances and we’re confident he’ll contribute well to the overall team performance,” he said in a statement.

The inclusion of Griffiths and his mount Happy Times is subject to International Olympic Committee approval.”<<<<<<<<
