Albert keeps his Dressage Comp Cool!

100_0637 PAlbert kept his cool so well today and soaked up the atmosphere on a beautiful Clarendon Dressage day.  I was really happy how he handled the whole thing. The results showed just how well he behaved.

100_0632 P

We started with the Prix St Georges.  It was a good test and he scored a very pleasing 71.57% coming a close 2nd to Brett Parbery on Good as Gold with 71.75%.

An hour later and we were on again this time in the Inter 1.  Albert gave the test his very best effort again which resulted in his best score so far at that level – 69.69%. Again 2nd to Brett.

Thanks to all my support team – and especially to groom Emily – so good to have you all there.

Confidence Booster for Albert

I’m taking Albert to Clarendon tomorrow for a big confidence booster.  We are riding the Prix St. George at 10.12am and then the Inter 1 at 12.15.  He still lacks experience and confidence in the competition arena and I am teaching him to settle with the atmosphere out there in the competitions.  This is so important at this stage in his career and he needs to get all the experience he can.  Looking forward to a fun and relaxed day!  Above all looking forward to Albert taking it all in his stride 🙂

Come and be part of the atmosphere…Albert needs you there!

Albert wins his first Prix St. George at Dressage NSW Comp

So pleased with Albert.  Since February, when we really got back into work together, Albert has shot up through the levels.  He has now successfully competed at Elementary, Medium, Advanced and yesterday a 69.74% (and first placing) at Prix St. George at a Dressage NSW comp. at Clarendon.  I am so proud of his achievement.  He is so like his mum.

Albert’s Medium Test at Clarendon

So pleased with Albert’s performance in the Medium 4A at Clarendon and our score of 70.972%.  It was a great weekend. Albert was very tired after four tests over the two days.  We finished with four wins and good scores in all the tests.

You can see all the results from the weekend here:

Albert goes well in windy conditions at Dressage New South Wales Clarendon

All the riders did really well in very windy and cold conditions at Clarendon today and there were some excellent scores.  Judy Dierks and Highlight scored 81.719 in the 2C.

I was very pleased with Albert who competed in two elementary tests – the 3C and 3D.  He came second in both tests with scores of 67.25 and 67.821.  Next weekend he has another outing at Sydney International Equestrian Centre at the Andalusian Society Dressage competition.  I am thinking I might put him up a level to see how he goes.

Cederic’s First Outing!

What a great start.  Took Cederic down to Clarendon to get used to the big wide world and the dressage arenas.  He took it all in his stride and I was really, really pleased with him.  Brett rode him in the warm-up arena and Cederic went so well for him.  No problems at all.  I’d say he has some of his mother’s temperament.

Planning to take him to his first competition very soon so stay tuned for that!

Hope you enjoy the video.
