Introducing my support crew – always there – always cheering for me. A big thank you to all you guys.
Here’s the challenge….who can name them all?
What an amazing weekend I have had with Silbermond. Not only winning the Intermediate Freestyle but also being awarded the John Lieutenant Memorial Trophy – this award is presented to the individual horse/rider combination obtaining the best two (2) official scores. Silbermond is a very special horse and we are having a lot of fun together. My huge thanks to his wonderful owners for allowing me the ride and for the incredible support they give me.
Here is the video of the freestyle:
Congratulations to Dressage New South Wales for running an awesome January competition in sweltering conditions at Clarendon. The “new look” Clarendon comp exceeded expectations and we were well looked after with much water, free tea and coffee, and even iceblocks (how good was that – and especially welcomed by spectators and riders). Not forgetting the free carrots for all horses and ponies.
Cederic was awesome and is coming on beautifully. Very happy rider indeed. He scored 70.227% in the Elementary 3.1 and 64.583% in the Elementary 3.2.
Great to catch up with everybody.
Incredible performance from Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro at Olympia in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a new world record of 93.27%! Click here or on the photo to watch them…
They just get better and better. Stunning to watch.
Ride Well this Christmas!
Sadly my beautiful mare Cassie (Yardley Charisma) passed away today. Cassie was an amazing part of my family and of Australian Dressage. She was Australian Grand Prix Champion in successive years in 1997 and 1998 at the Sydney CDI.
Even today she was looking after her grand-daughter. It’s pretty amazing to look out into the paddocks and see her two sons and two of her grand children.
What an amazing mare. You will be sadly missed by us all.
Thank you for the ride Cassie.
It’s come around again! Next weekend (Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th October) sees the Australian National Dressage Championships at SIEC. This is going to be an amazing weekend and a chance to see some great combinations of the top Australian riders and horses. The depth of talent and experience we now have in Australian Dressage is amazing, as well as some really great younger riders coming through to challenge the old hands. Competition will be incredibly strong. This is a chance to see the combinations that will be representing Australia at future World Equestrian Games and the Olympics.
A special congratulations, and big welcome, to Judith Beint-Tapp and Checkmate (Chester) who are competing in their first Nationals in the Intermediate 1 and will be travelling all the way from King River Station, near Katherine. Their story is truely amazing – you can read about it, and hear the interview, on the related link below: Station Stock Horse to National Dressage Championships.

I am very excited to have Albert entered into the Prix St. Georges (Thursday) and the Intermediate 1 (Friday). We will be looking to improve on our performances from the NSW State Championships. I am so looking forward to it.
You can find a full programme of events, ticketing, trade village and a lot more on the Dressage NSW site: Click Here
Looking forward to seeing you there…….Do come and say hello:-)
Great weekend, great weather, excellent state championships. Congratulations to all the combinations. So good to see so many horses and riders on the verge of very impressive performances.
Was so pleased with Albert’s performance in the Inter 1. This was only his second experience of the indoor arena and he did very well and I was extremely happy with him. We had some anxious moments though :-), and we lost it completely in the canter zig-zags (I think we scored a “3” for that) which badly effected our overall score! At the end of the day our score of 63.25% reflected our performance. This is all excellent experience for Albert. He has come a long way in a short time.
Well that was a fun day! Really pleased with Albert in the Prix St. Georges on a score of 68.68% and third place. Looking forward to the Inter 1 tomorrow.
Great to catch up with so many people today and to watch so many interesting tests. Lovely to see some pupils very happy with their results too. Well done guys!

She got so close to Edward Gal’s world record of 92.3% but who’s worrying about that after an awesome ride by the olympic champions Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro. They hardly put a foot wrong in their freestyle to the music they used in London last year. The score of 91.25% says it all. Absolutely amazing performance for first place. If you haven’t seen it yet – here it is:
With thanks to Dressage24.pl for the video – good work
